ABOUT INTRODUCTION Seoul Lunar Photo Fest is an event that brings to life the meeting placebetween people and photography. In an era of the advent of smartphones and thediffusion of hundreds of thousands of photos a day, it was inevitable thatconcerns over the way in which we encounter photos and discern good imageswould arise. Moving beyond the exhibition space of uniformly hung frames, it’sonly natural that the demands of the contemporary world would expand thedefinition of images to include music and other video media. Centered on theSeochon (“West Village”) area, the Lunar Photo Fest seeks to convey the beautyof these new channels of images through experimental, free-form displays.Diverse work will be explored through collaborative efforts by photographers,musicians, sound creators, illustrators, and other artists. In particular, alarge-scale screen installed on the square in front of the National PalaceMuseum of Korea inside Gyeongbokgung Palace will provide
